You can't help yourself; you fall in love. Those who've been listening along swollen-heartedly since the 1970s know the feeling well, and those who are about to discover Murray via this duets album and its handful of younger-skewing songs--the Nelly Furtado team-up on "Daydream Believer" especially--are going to have a hard time not submitting. It's the tenderness that hooks you: Murray's deep, confident voice manages to be maternal without being claustrophobic, an effect magnified here by expert vocal partners like Carole King, Emmylou Harris, and Olivia Newton John. The few left-field choices--Indigo Girls, k.d. lang, a ghostly appearance by Dusty Springfield--aren't hard-left enough to muck up the mood. And the song selection doesn't strike a false note either: "Cotton Jenny" sounds as right on an Anne Murray CD as "You Needed Me." Which means that if you have a soft spot for Murray at all, even one that's not quite as cushy as it used to be, you should prepare to be sucked in. It happens every time, as the song goes. --Tammy La Gorce | | | |

Bravo!! Nov 11, 2008 Oh, Anne, I just fall in love again... with your voice!! Dusty Springfield, Carole King--how great to hear all the lady troubadours on this CD. It's a beautiful collection of duets. Put it in your vehicle if you commute to work and you'll be singing by the time you get there! Really nice...

Great Memories Nov 05, 2008 I'm a fan! I grew up with Anne Murray and absolutely love her voice. This cd of duets is a fun, fresh way to introduce her old songs. I prefer Anne's voice alone but this new twist is worth listening to...I enjoyed it! The duet with KD Lang is my favorite...their voices are so complimentary.

A Classic Nov 02, 2008 I anticipated a good rendition by all artistes after listening to samples, but it surpassed my expectations.
Anne is a wonderful singer and her duet with fellow Canadian Celine Dion live,is extraordinary. Not to metion Sarah Brightman (another favourite singer of mine). What a performance by all. Could you imagine if Anne got together with another favourite of mine(Nana Mouskouri)? That would be a great joy to me.

Anne Murray the Legend Oct 01, 2008 As a kid I always listen to my mum who always played Anne Murray's song over and over again. The reason I purchased this album is to have a memory to my mum. Almost all the tracks in the CD had been heard before but this album is different as Anne included a lot of others artist which gives a different kind of feeling. Anne wrote a great deal of all the artist she duets with in this album, and it is worth enough for buyer who love Anne's music.

Anne Murray Duets: Friends & Legends Aug 09, 2008 The first five songs work OK, but the rest of the CD is blank. I am very disappointed in this item.
